Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Possibly originating from a guest album at the 1902 Imperial Conference (with signatures added later) due to the varied accumulation of politicians with a strong British contingent, we have a 9 ½” x 11” album page signed by 29 on both the front and reverse, including Wilfrid Laurier, Joseph Chamberlain, Charles Ritchie, Louis Botha, Arthur Balfour, Sir William Ramsay, Sir William John Lyne, Bonar Law, Émile François Loubet, Leslie Stuart, Sir Edward German, Captain Sir Montagu Frederick Ommanney, Louis-Philippe Brodeur and others. Each signature has been scripted in fountain pen, with the thick cardstock page featuring three gilded edges, with the single non-gilt edge the side the book was bound on. With the majority of the signatures remaining dark and bold, a small amount of residue is present from something that was once affixed, with just toning the main concern overall.
The aforementioned signers include;
Wilfrid Laurier (was the seventh Prime Minister of Canada, in office from 11 July 1896 to 6 October 1911)
Joseph Chamberlain (British - Secretary of State for the Colonies)
Charles Ritchie, 1st Baron Ritchie of Dundee
