Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

This attractive goalie mask was worn by Alfie Michaud while plying his trade with a number of minor league teams. The Selkirk native played 2 games for the Canucks in 1999-2000 (back-up in both games), played for IHL Kansas City Blades in 2000-01, AHL Manitoba Moose and ECHL Reading Royals in 2001-02 and the ECHL Peoria Rivermen in 2002-03 and 2004-05. Featuring an animated grizzly across the top section with outstretched arms grasping both vintage and modern Canucks logos, along with an igloo pattern throughout, this igloo pattern is continued along the back headpiece, with Peoria Rivermen and RB stickers affixed, along with Pro Choice examples on each side. “Black Magic” also appears along the inner right side, with the artist signing, "Dominic Malerba”, along with a date of “99”.
With all padding and strapping intact, the mask exhibits nice use, with some chipping and a slight inward bend to the chrome finish along the mask’s center bar. There is also a large chip to the finish just below the grizzly’s nose, along with a few other marks and abrasions present, especially along edges. A solid black bag designed for the mask is also included, with “4orte” appearing in white on each side.
