The first team to win five Super Bowls, the San Francisco 49ers, led by Steve Young, accomplished the feat with their victory at Super Bowl XXIX early in 1995. We have a Steve Young salesman’s sample ring that was produced for the event. Size 9 ½ - 10 with a weight of roughly 42 grams, 5 Vince Lombardi trophies with inserted zirconia sit atop the face, with “Forty” on the bezel above, along with “Niners” below. The right shank has “Young” in raised letters along the top, with 5 Super Bowl trophies repeated along with “49ers” and their record of “16-3”, while the left shank contains full-colour 49ers, NFL (75th anniversary) and Super Bowl XXIX logos, along with the embossed score of “49-26”. The inner band has "LGB BGP" along with an engraved sample number "8SC09331-1010", with a small portion of the band cut-away, as both Balfour and Jostens started in this era to cut off small pieces from the non-gold rings in order to deter collectors.
Accompanied by a Balfour box, the attractive ring exhibits wear including scratches to the outer band, with additional wear to the inner band and along edges.
