Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
An unfortunate victim of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane crash in 2011, Pavol Demitra spent 16 seasons in the NHL, the Dubnica nad Váhom native had also represented Slovakia in a number of international tournaments. We have a neat lot of 4 items commemorating the tragic figure, with skates worn by Demitra circa late-1990s, along with three game-used sticks, with examples from his time with the Blues (late-1990s/early-2000s) and Wild/Canucks (circa-2007-09), along with a Warrior model used in the late-2000s. Addendum; Please take note that it has come to our attention that the skates were also worn by someone other than Demitra after they were acquired.
The skates are Bauer Supreme 7000 models with intact lacing and Tuuk blade holders. Nice use is exhibited on the pair, with wear and rubbing to the leather along with cuts to the toe sections. A few marks are also present on each blade. Each stick features “Demitra” on the shaft, with the original “spiral-pattern” tape over the handles, with just the Warrior example having the blade tape removed. Moderate to heavy use is exhibited on the Bauer Supreme models, with wear to the underside of each blade along with additional wear to the shafts, with the Warrior stick exhibiting just light use. Demitra added a nice silver paint pen autograph over the heel section of the Wild/Canucks stick, and it displays well with no issues.
