Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Designed to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in 2012-13, we have a signed Pittsburgh Penguins jersey worn at home by Joe Vitale during the warm-up of the March 17th contest vs Boston, a match that witnessed the Pens slip past the Bruins, 2-1. Size tagging is affixed to the collar near a bright green Reebok name band, with embroidered NHL and Reebook crests over the front neckline and left breast respectively. Featuring the familiar Pens team crest in Irish green with white highlights, the solid green garment has been accented with white tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with grey trim, with matching shamrock crests over each shoulder. Vitale has added a green marker signature across the reverse “6”, and it displays well, with very light bleeding. Worn during the warm-up, the sweater exhibits no wear and remains in wonderful condition. A full Reebok label sits over the lower front, while the team patch along the inside hem lists the uniform's provenance. An LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany.
