Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Aggressively removed from boxes of soup by eager youngsters during the mid-1970s, we have a great group of items from the 1974-75 Lipton Soup hockey promotion. Included, we have a large and seldom-seen 10” x 14” Cournoyer store display/promotion, a complete Lipton Soup box with Dryden and MacLeish, a card wallet, a cut soup box panel with Keon, Guevremont and the collector’s wallet order form and a single card, #13 Yvan Cournoyer. There is also a decal sheet along with a 7 ½” x 10 ½” newsprint advertisement. The Cournoyer display/premium displays beautifully with a single pinhole and vertical crease, while the Dryden/MacLeish box shows just expected wear and is currently disassembled and flattened.
The decal panel is complete with light wear, with clear tape on the reverse, while the wallet appears unused with no wear. The Keon/Guevremont panel has wear to the upper corners, with a scratch across the Keon card and fading to the reverse, with the single Cournoyer card in lower grade with a number of creases. Lastly, the newsprint advertisement hails from the comic strip section of an unknown newspaper, with just light toning to mention.
