Cool pair of Team Canada game-worn items from the 2011 IIHF world junior championships feature defenseman Simon Despres’ Bauer game-used gloves and forward Casey Cizikas’ Bauer game-worn helmet. Despres, who was selected 30th overall by Pittsburgh in the 2009 NHL Draft, wore his Team Canada 2011 Bauer Vapor X:60 Pro gloves throughout the entire tournament, as per the Hockey Canada LOA signed by president Bob Nicholson that accompanies it. “Depres” is misspelled as handwritten in black marker at the top of the palm of each of his gloves, which have “Team Canada” embroidered on the outside edge of the cuff and the Hockey Canada logo on each thumb. The gloves, which have “3” handwritten in faint silver paint pen on the cuff padding above the palm, display nice game use in the form of wear to the palms and marks and scuffs to the padding. Cizikas’ No. 11 decal remains on the back of his Team Canada 2011 Bauer 9900 game-worn helmet with its original padding, Vauer visor and chinstrap. Cizikas, who was a fourth-round draft pick by the New York Islanders in 2009, contributed two goals and one assist in seven games during the 2011 WJC in Buffalo. Bauer BHH5100 sticker remains inside the top of the helmet along with a “Medium” size sticker and a “31 07 2009 00” production date sticker. Hockey Canada decal is affixed to the back of the helmet, which displays nice game use in the form of various scuffs and surface scratches. It comes with an LOA signed by Hockey Canada president that states that Cizikas wore this helmet throughout the entire 2011 WJC.
