Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Obtained from a top executive at Campbell, we have a wonderful Wayne Gretzky Campbell soup promotional collection, with a large die cut store display along with a signed jersey, signed game-issued skate and signed sticks (2). The store display is roughly 32” x 74 ½”, and it pictures the iconic legend in an NHL All-Star jersey, with bag in hand loaded with delicious Campbell soups. The jersey was produced to be worn by Wayne for the promotion, but a different version was accepted. Featuring a “Chunky Soup” logo and tackle twill “99” with “Gretzky” across the nameplate, Wayne has signed near the captain’s “C”, and the signature displays especially well.
The signed sticks are Easton aluminum models with “Gretzky” factory graphics on the upper shaft, with one example featuring a taped handle/knob, most likely done by Wayne for the right feel, and used for promotion, as the consignor worked with Wayne on several occasions. The blade has been signed in black marker with a lengthy inscription, and the signature is flawless. The second stick features a wooden “Ciccarelli” model blade, with Wayne adding a nice blue marker signature across the blade with his iconic “99”. The skate is a CCM Tacks left-foot model with screened-on “99”, with no use shown whatsoever. Wayne has added a black marker signature along with the date of “6/12/96”, with some minor rubbing to the autograph. Lastly, as an added bonus, we also have a 9 ½” x 12” uncut sheet of Campbell “pogs” from 1995-96, with 26 NHL teams represented.
