Huge hoard of vintage Sony Beta tapes holding the recorded on-ice action from various games circa 1979 through 1982. Badger Bob was well-known for his devotion to video breakdown and analysis and for all of the time he put into watching and re-watching games to develop strategies and counter-strategies. This collection of Johnson's game tapes includes 23 recordings of Wisconsin Badgers games dated from 1980 to 1982 against rivals such as Colorado College, Denver, Michigan, Minnesota, Ferris State, Notre Dame and more. More gems include three Pittsburgh Penguins games against Toronto, New York and Washington. One, marked "Mark has an Assist" reminds us that Bob's son Mark Johnson was with the Pens during this period. Proud papa! Three more highlights include recordings of the December 31, 1979 Montreal Canadiens vs. Red Army, one marked "Team Canada vs. Russia 1979" and another labelled "Russia - Canada, 1981 Canada Cup". Dig out your old Betamax machine and see the game exactly as Badger Bob saw it! Obtained in an estate sale of personal items that had been saved by Bob Johnson and will come with a letter of provenance.
