Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

A veteran of over 1500 NHL games, Tim Horton suited up for the Rangers, Buffalo and Pittsburgh, but he’s best remembered for his long-time service to the Toronto Maple Leafs. We have an interesting document collection of 8, all representing Tim’s time in blue and white. We have a pair of unsigned contracts, one for 1958-59, the other 1960-61, followed by three telegrams that all reference Horton from 1950, 1951 and 1952. Next, we have a file copy of bonuses paid used for negotiating the 1962-63 season contract, with a second example for the 1963-64 season, along with a file copy of proposed bonuses for the 1967-68 to 1969-70 seasons. The 1960-61 contract offer is intriguing, as it was apparently turned down by Horton.
Each document remains in pleasing condition with just expected handling wear which includes fold lines to the contracts, as well as holes present from former binder insertion. The 1963-64 bonus negotiation document also exhibits some staining along with creasing along the bottom section.
