Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

The King of Kings, Marcel Dionne reigns as arguably the greatest player in Los Angeles hockey history. Like Wayne Gretzky, Dionne was traded to the L.A. Kings after he had established himself as an NHL superstar, but unlike the Great One, Marcel racked up his greatest seasons with the Kings. Dionne, who played his first four seasons for Detroit and parts of his last three for the Rangers, retired with some of the biggest numbers in NHL history, including 731 goals, 1,040 assists, and 1,771 points from 1971-89. His 550 goals with the Kings are second only to Luc Robitaille’s 557, and Dionne holds the Kings records for most assists (757) and points (1,307). An amazing keepsake of Marcel’s incredible NHL career originally from Dionne’s collection is his actual CCM Tacks game-used skate that was bronzed. Game use on the bronzed skate clearly shows in the wear to the boot of this skate worn on Dionne’s right foot, as well as to nicks and marks to the plastic blade holder. This magnificent memento of one of the greatest scorers in NHL history comes with a wood base with a plaque that reads “Marcel Dionne, 1971-1989, 731 goals – 1040 assists” on the front and a slot for the skate blade to stand it up from display.
