Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Czech defenseman Frantisek Kucera’s 2000-01 Penguins game-worn jersey has some nice game wear despite his limited time in Pittsburgh. Kucera played seven regular season games with the Penguins after he was acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but he did not dress for any playoff games. Tagging in the neck includes size “54” and Made in Canada flag tags, the latter with Kucera’s No. “26” handwritten in black marker, that have both been sewn over by nameplate stitching. Game wear shows in marks and board burns on the sleeves, including an unrepaired burn hole just to the right of the “6” on the left sleeve. A MeiGray registry number appears on the holofoil affixed to the accompanying Penguins LOA that states that this gamer is a “black Set 3 jersey” from the 2000-01 season.
