A master of the macabre, George Romero had previously released horror-cult classics Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead before his 1982 directed Creepshow. A collection of five short stories, the film gave a huge nod to the heavily censored EC horror comics of the 1950s that brought about the dreaded “Comics Code Authority”, with the film cleverly matching the earlier books gore factor to comedic affect. Written by Stephen King, the film is also noteworthy as the prolific author’s screenwriting debut. We have a typically-sized one sheet poster from the film, and it’s been signed by George Romero. Giving the appearance of one of the previously mentioned EC comics from the glorious 1950s, the poster has been folded over thrice, exhibiting prominent fold lines, with a single vertical fold line along with three horizontal examples. The colours remain bright and vibrant, with some light toning to the white sections. Some creasing and surface indentations are present, especially along fold lines, with a small hole at the intersection of the top fold. Edge and surface wear is also present, especially along the left hand side, with “Creepshow” handwritten along the reverse in ballpoint. The Romero signature has been placed over the film’s listed credits in black marker, and it displays beautifully.
