Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Nifty backgrounds, along with the presence of all-time Maple Leaf great Dave Keon's rookie card, contribute to the popularity of Parkhurst's 1961-62 hockey card effort, with plenty to tell you about here. For starters, three cards are encapsulated by PSA, with #20-Gordie Howe slabbed EX-MT 6, while at NM-MT 8 are Leafs 15-Harris and 17-Armstrong. The Keon RC displays as a VG-EX example but has "E 8" stamped on the reverse in purplish ink, the same as 19 others, including 26-Ullman, 35-Geoffrion and 43-Richard. Among the notable (non-stamped) cards are 1-Horton, 2-Mahovlich and 3-Bower at VG+, while 31-Sawchuk, 45-Beliveau (coin-rubbed reverse) and 49-Plante are at VG, with the rest averaging VG+. A few creases are spotted here and there in both groups, (stamped and non-stamped), but overall, the vast majority of the fronts display similarly well.
