One of the American League's eight charter franchises as the Philadelphia Athletics in 1901, three World Series championships would be won between 1910 and 1913 before relocating first to Kansas City in 1955, and then Oakland in 1968. We have an interesting group of game-worn Athletics items, with three jerseys and a “Turn Back the Clock” jersey/pants combo. 1) Ron Darling’s 1995 Oakland Athletics game-worn jersey. Russell tagging sits on the lower front tail, with “Oakland” across the chest in dual-colour tackle twill, along with a vintage-style Philadelphia patch over the left sleeve. Darling has signed the interior beneath the collar, with some bleeding to the signature. Some pilling is present along with loose threading to the numbers on both the front and verso, with some staining/discolouration to the collar. 2&3) Kevin Mitchell’s 1998 and Adam Piatt’s 2001 Oakland Athletics game-worn jerseys. Identical in style with “Athletics” across the chest in dual-colour tackle twill, with front and verso numbers in matching material, the Mitchell jersey has tagging from Russell on the front tail, the Piatt jersey Rawlings. Piatt has signed his jersey on the reverse, writing “Gamer” beneath. The Mitchell jersey exhibits loose threading along the collar, while the Piatt example exhibits no issues. 4) Adam Piatt’s 2001 Oakland Athletics “Turn Back the Clock” game-worn jersey and pants. Mitchell & Ness tagging along the collar and the lower front is present, with the grey flannel styled with a felt “A” over the left breast and “6” on verso in matching material. The pants have matching tagging along the waistband, with “6” handwritten. Piatt has signed the reverse, adding “Gamer” and “Turn Back the Clock”, with an additional signature to the pants. With just some fraying to the sleeves, the jersey remains in excellent condition, with some staining to the pants along the lower sections. An LOA will accompany the “Turn Back the Clock” jersey.
