Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
While not possessing a traditional swing, Vladimir Guerrero was regarded as the game’s leading bad ball hitter, often making contact with spheres thrown well outside the strike zone. A nine-time All-Star, Guerrero was also the recipient of eight Silver Slugger Awards. We have a bat wielded by the Dominican, most likely hailing from his time with the Angels. A 34” Model 24 X Bat, “Vladimir Guerrero” and “Pro Maple 34” decals grace the barrel, with a faded “27” in silver - Guerrero's career-long number - appearing over the knob. Featuring a hollowed-out barrel end, a heavy coat of pine tar/Mota stick has been liberally administered to the handle, continuing up over the center brand decal, common for Vlad gamers. Great use is exhibited, with considerable wear to the barrel including ball and cleat marks, with a V-shaped crack over the upper handle.
