Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A power hitter who’s intimidating swing generated 521 career home runs, Willie McCovey was a six-time All-Star and three-time NL home run leader, the Mobile native also received Rookie of the Year honours for his inaugural campaign in the National League in 1959. We have a signed bat used by McCovey during the 1970s (1971-79). A 35” Adirondack Big Stick signature model, the flame treated lumber feature’s a white ash surface, with the model “288RJ” stamped onto the knob along with Stretch’s “44” uniform number handwritten in black marker. Exhibiting good game-use with ball and stitch marks across the hitting surface along with a couple handle cracks, McCovey has signed between the center brand and signature stamping in blue marker, and the signature displays well. An LOA will accompany.
