Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Originating from his time as team therapist with the Toronto Blue Jays, we have a batting practice jersey that has been signed by pitcher Sam McDowell. Interestingly, the character of Sam Malone from the hugely successful sitcom Cheers was based on McDowell. Wilson size tagging is affixed to the collar, with “Blue Jays” arching across the chest in tackle twill. Featuring a partially embroidered Blue Jays logo, the mesh V-neck includes “48” on verso in matching tackle twill. McDowell has signed across the bottom of the “4” in black marker on the verso, with just very slight bleeding to the signature. The jersey itself remains in gorgeous condition, ready for a new home. An LOA from McDowell with facsimile signature will accompany.
