"The Trail of the Stanley Cup" is a definite prerequisite to any important hockey library. Author Charles Coleman's three-volume history of hockey and Lord Stanley's trophy from 1893 to 1967 is contained within these three books. Only 1,000 copies of this special edition of the first two books presented to important hockey figures, while the third was limited to 1,500 copies. The books in this full set feature a Kendall/Hunt edition of the first volume (not leather-bound), along with the second edition numbered #833 along with a presentation bookplate for Sam Nover. The third and final edition is numbered #1217, and it includes a card explaining its status as a gift on behalf of the Governors of the NHL, with a facsimile signature from Clarence Campbell.
All three volumes remain in excellent condition, with just light expected handling wear. The second and third volumes have their proper black slipcovers with gold Stanley Cup graphics, with the Sam Nover bookplate detached.
