Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Featuring the current holders of Lord Stanley’s famous Cup, we have a nice gathering of Pittsburgh Penguins game-used items, including a pair of skate bags, with one example having identification cards for #87 (Crosby), #71 (Malkin), #58 (Letang) and #55 (Gonchar). We also have a Penguins equipment bag, circa 2010 Mark Letestu "third" game-worn pants, #6 game-used gloves, a pair of well used shin pads, four sets of elbow pads, two pair of off-colour socks and more. The pants and gloves show nice use and remain in excellent condition, while the elbow pads all show varying degrees of usage. The equipment bag features a Penguins logo, with an inserted card that reads “Good for 2012 Summer Camp / Gloves, Pants, Helmets”.
The skate bags show nice use, with both featuring screened-on Penguins logos. The Letestu pants are Bauer examples, with an NHL crest on the back of the left pant leg. Good use is shown, with marks and surface wear. Next, the gloves are Reebok models with “Penguins” rubberized along the cuffs. “6” has been handwritten on the palm of each in marker, with a few small holes present on the left glove. The elbow pads are Warrior, Easton, Reebok and Jofa models, all showing varying degrees of use, while the shin pads were made by Reebok, with embroidered NHL crests on each.
