Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
An all-Hall of Fame lineup is offered up here in desirable tumblers originally filled with York Peanut Butter. From the company’s inaugural 1960-61 promotion are 4-1/2” high glasses depicting Toronto’s Bob Pulford and Canadiens Dickie Moore and Tom Johnson, with action shots of the players, the team name and a referee signalling an infraction also included. They feature original vibrant colors and are like-new; we cannot spot a single crack, flake, chip or hint of wear. Joining the trio is a Dave Keon glass from the less-often-seen 1967-68 issue. Standing 5-3/4” tall, the glass tumbler includes a picture and facsimile autograph of the Leaf legend on one side and a cartoon of a referee giving the sign for high sticking on the other. Believed to have been, like previous issues, issued at playoff time, it is one of six different (three Leafs, three Canadiens) that exist. Also in beauty condition, it contributes to an attractive, appealing ensemble.
