The great Wayne Gretzky was easy to spot by his equipment during the Eighties from his habit of tucking in the right side of his Nike jerseys to his distinctive blue Perfecta blade holders. And those who study the player and his gear are very familiar with the sweat bands Wayne wore on his wrists under his lengthy Jofa gloves. Presented here is one of the original wristbands, complete with the Oilers logo on a triangular patch. This scarce display, put together by the manufacturer, pairs the sweat band under Plexiglas with a period-correct ballpoint ink Wayne Gretzky signature. And off to the side, a wonderful print showing Wayne with the cup wearing the away blue version of the wrist band. A descriptive plaque mounted below on the custom 13" x 16" Plexiglas display dates the piece to the 1983-84 season and numbers the extremely limited-edition to "10/12". Superb!
The lower left corner of the Plexiglass holding the picture has a piece broken and missing.
