Any work of art by the late LeRoy Neiman is destined to appreciate in value and the renowned American artist one in the top corner with this dazzlingly colorful rendition of the young Wayne Gretzky. Neiman, who died in June 2012 at the age of 91, signed in pencil at the bottom of this majestic "The Great Gretzky" limited-edition serigraph issued in 1981. Mounted in a huge frame and not under glass, it remains in wonderful condition and displays to 37” x 29” within an elegant matte. The Great One placed a huge pencil signature in the bottom left just to the right of the "184/300" limited-edition pencil notation. One of the bigger Gretzky artworks, it captures Wayne’s on-ice aura and fluid movement in vibrant colors and Neiman’s distinctly unique interpretation of the elite of sport. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
The late LeRoy Neiman artworks convey the essence of sport with great impact, from the Kentucky Derby to Wilt Chamberlain, from the America's Cup to Muhammad Ali, from the Super Bowl to Bobby Hull, and of course, the Great One himself.
