Another banner year for the Detroit Red Wings, the 1956-57 season witnessed a first place finish which earned a Prince of Wales Trophy, with additional hardware which included the Hart Memorial garnered by perennial Red Wing Gordie Howe who lead the NHL in both goals and points. We have a team-signed stick from that very season for your consideration, signed by 21 including 8 HOFers. A Hedlund youth model at roughly 48” in length, tape appears on the blade, with loose strands present along with intact striping stickers. All 21 signatures have been fashioned on one side, with an astounding 8 HOFers including those who have sadly passed with Gordie Howe and Marcel Pronovost, along with Hall, Lindsay, Ullman, Delvecchio, Kelly and Johnny Bucyk.
Others who have laid pen to wood on this important 1950’s artifact include Ferguson, Reibel, Prystai, Pavelich, McNeill, Dineen, Anderson and Al Arbour. The signatures display very well, with only a few exhibiting light fading, while the stick itself remains in very good condition. The Red Wings would finish the 1956-57 NHL season with an impressive record of 38 wins, 20 losses and 12 ties.
