Goaltender Ed Belfour was able to carve out an exceptional Hall of Fame career despite never being drafted, and he’s one of only two players in NHL history to have won an NCAA championship, an Olympic gold medal and a Stanley Cup. We have a pair of game-worn pads from 2001-02, with this style only used briefly by Belfour, along with the type of blocker and glove used by Ed during the same era, with the glove unused and very little wear to the blocker. Next we have a neck protector that was most likely used while with the Stars, a pair of skates used during his career, and lastly, a small glove that was worn inside Ed’s trapper, and it’s been signed.
The breakdown for each of the Ed Belfour game-worn items offered is as follows. 1) Game-worn goal pads from 2001-02. Vaughn Vision models in Stars black, green and white, identifiers have been both screened and sewn-on, with “Belfour” embroidered onto leather sections along each outside edge along with his eagle motif, which is visible just above. A marker notation is also visible on the inner padding of each pad. With all strapping intact, the pads exhibit light use, with a few marks and scratches present to both pads. 2) Game-worn blocker from circa 2001-02. A Vaughn Velocity model, “Belfour” appears embroidered-on along with his eagle motif, with the “Velocity” lettering removed. With just light wear noticeable along edges, the blocker remains in gorgeous condition. 3) Trapper from circa 2001-02. A Vaughn model, “Belfour” appears embroidered-on along with his eagle motif, with identifiers screened-on and embroidered. Exhibiting no signs of wear or use, the trapper remains in perfect condition. 4) Game-worn skates. Used during his Hall of Fame career and a model he used with the Stars, we have a pair of Graff Goaler Pro skates (no blades) with Eddie’s eagle motif embossed along the back side of the molding. Currently void of lacing on the right skate, both show nice use, with fairly heavy wear along edges and to the toe sections. 5) Game-worn neck guard. In solid black, the Vaughn guard with Velcro attachment remains in excellent condition. 6) Game-worn inner glove. Worn inside his trapper, the solid blue glove has been signed by Ed across the palm in marker, and he's added his number.
