Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Having retired after a single season in Boston in 2014-15, Simon Gagne had previously spent time with Tampa Bay and Los Angeles, along with over a decade in Philadelphia. This Flyers alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the Quebec native in 2008-09, and it’s been photo-matched. CCM size tagging and a Reebok name band remain affixed along the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring an attractive winged “P” Flyers team crest, the v-neck sweater has been embellished with double-twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gagne” placed directly onto the nameplate. A MeiGray patch numbered F04461 sits on the inside hem, and according to the accompanying LOA, this garment is a “Black Set 2 w/A” example.
Visible game-wear on the sweater includes just a few marks near each shoulder. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty image #85313420 from March 5th 2009 has been matched to the black mark between the number 1 and 2 of "12" on the left sleeve.
