A former Edmonton Oilers’ captain, Shawn Horcoff spent over 10 seasons in Alberta before moving on to Dallas and Anaheim. This lot contains an Oilers jersey worn by Horcoff in 2001-02 along with a signed game-worn helmet from 2011-12. With Elite Sportswear and size 58 tagging remaining in the collar, embroidered KOHO and NHL crests sit on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Accented with attractive tri-colour tackle twill numbers, the “Blue Set 1” jersey also sports matching alternate patches over each shoulder. The team patch sits on the inside bottom hem, while the fight strap remains intact. Great-use is exhibited on the v-neck, with marks on the front as well as on both sleeves, along with a stick mark on the left side of the team crest. Heavy board burns are present, especially over the left sleeve where three team repairs are also visible, just above the cuff.
In solid Oilers blue and medium in size, the helmet was produced by Easton, with all identifiers stenciled on. With intact visor, strapping and interior harness, Oilers decals grace each side with “10” on the reverse bottom and above the forehead. A Hockey Fights Cancer sticker is also present along the reverse behind the left ear, with a tag attached that specifically mention’s this helmet being worn by Horcoff on Oct 20th and 30th of 2011. Horcoff has added a large and flowing silver sharpie signature across the top section, and it display extremely well with just a small spot that exhibits smudging. Exhibiting light but definite use with some random surface scratches present, a hologram numbered 7293 has been affixed to the reverse by the Oilers, and an LOA for the jersey with facsimile signature will accompany.
