Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The backstop of the Philadelphia Flyers dominant Stanley Cup Championship teams of the mid-1970s, Bernie Parent led the league in this era in regular season and playoff wins, shutouts and GAA. This stick hails from this important period. A preferred Sher-Wood model, “Parent B. 1” is stamped-on, with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade and knob. There is also additional tape along the bottom and top portions of the paddle. Great use is exhibited, with numerous puck marks on the blade and paddle, along with heavy amounts of red goal-post paint transfer on the upper shaft, and along edges of the paddle continuing right down to the blade. There is also some inconsequential chipping along the bottom of the blade at the heel.
