Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Aptly known as The Silver Fox, Lester Patrick along with his brother Frank were instrumental in the westward expansion of hockey during the second decade of the 20th century, with the formation of the PCHA. Credited with scoring the first goal for a defenceman, Patrick would win six Stanley Cups as a player, coach and manager. We are pleased to offer what is arguably the best known Lester Patrick signed photo in the hobby. At roughly 8” x 10”, the glossy bordered portrait image features a dapper and solemn looking Patrick, with a NY Rangers shield pin affixed to his blazer. The fountain pen signature sits in the bottom left section, and it’s an absolutely stunning example, bold and dark with the indentation perfectly visible. The photo itself remains in gorgeous condition, with surface indentations along with some light edge wear.
