Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Originally conceived as benefit games, the NHL All-Star competition began with the first official contest in 1947, which witnessed the current champion Maple Leafs taking on a collection of NHL all-stars. This lot contains a large collection of All-Star memorabilia, numbering over 80 pieces. We have 23 ticket stubs, including examples for 1979, 1986 (2), 1989 (2), 1990 (3) and others. We have 15 pucks including both souvenir examples along with 7 official game pucks from 1992, 1994 (3), 1996, 1997 and 1998, with programs from 1979, 1983, 1988 and others. We also have a beautiful display with an 11” x 14” photo featuring Messier, Fuhr, Lowe and others, matted with a ticket stub, game puck and souvenir example all from the 1989 All-Star Game in Edmonton.
The 1989 display is beautifully framed to total dimensions of roughly 18” x 30”, and it remains in gorgeous condition. We also have an All-Star crest from 2009 in its original packaging, a rubix cube from the 2008 contest, a small additional display with mounted ticket for the 2000 player’s dinner along with a Fantasy ticket stub and Master Card. There is also a personal invitation for 1993 from Gary Bettman, a dressing room pass from 1996, three sets of packaged pins along with a pamphlet for 2009 and more! The majority of the ticket stubs exhibit just regular handling wear, while the offered programs are in beautiful condition with just moderate wear.
