Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Fresh off a Stanley Cup Championship in 2000, the New Jersey Devils led by Martin Brodeur would defeat the Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2001, advancing for the second consecutive season to the finals where they would lose in seven to the Colorado Avalanche. This stick was used by Brodeur that very season, 2000-01, and it’s been signed. “M. Brodeur” appears stamped on the upper shaft of the CCM Graphite stick, with the original tape on the blade and knob. A faint December 2000 date stamp is present on the handle’s underside, with an additional factory code beneath the knob. Martin has added a beautiful black marker signature to the paddle along with “To Steve Best Wishes!”
The stick exhibits nice use, with wear to the bottom of the blade along with marks on the taped section and paddle. A few strands of tape are also missing from the front-side of the blade.
