Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Featuring Le Magnifique, in this lot we have a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey submitted to the team as a prototype in circa 1989, but it was not actually made for or issued to Mario Lemieux. Maska Ultrafil tagging is affixed to the collar with handwritten “52”, with CCM and Action Spot patches on the back bottom hem. Fashioned with a gorgeous embroidered Penguins team crest, the jersey also features tackle twill numbers and double twill lettering on nameplate. Originally obtained from a member of the Pittsburgh Penguin’s equipment staff, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany this interesting and unique prototype jersey.
