A Calder Trophy winner in 1958, Frank Mahovlich would go on to play 17 NHL seasons split between Toronto, Detroit and Montreal, which included six Stanley Cups. This lot contains 11 impressive signed lithographs, with two different designs offered. The first numbers 6 copies and is roughly 13 ½” x 24”, and it pictures a youthful Mahovlich in a number of on-ice poses, looking dapper in his Maple Leafs uniform. Created by artist Daniel Parry, he has signed on the middle right with Mahovlich signing on the left including his number. Limited to 1,927 copies, each is numbered between the signatures with numbers 3, 4, 9, 16, 20 and 807 present. All signed in silver paint pen, a copyright date of 1994 appears in the bottom right. Each exhibits perfect signatures, with some smudging to the “20” on the example numbered “20/1927”. Three of the six examples also have corner dings/creases. The second offered lithograph numbers 5 copies and is approx. 19” x 25”, and it pictures impressionistic images of The Big M in his Toronto, Detroit and Montreal uniforms. Created by artist RJ Vandermeer in 1989, one lithograph was created for each goal of Frank’s career which numbers 533. Each is numbered in the bottom left, along with the date, opponent, and venue of said goal. Mahovlich has signed each in the lower left in pen, with the artist signing in the bottom right including hand-numbering each. In beautiful condition, a few of the lithographs have light corner dings/touches.
