The first European born-and-trained NHL captain to win the Stanley Cup, Nicklas Lidstrom is also the first European to be named playoff MVP. This milestone puck is an actual game puck originating from Lidstrom’s 500th career regular season NHL point against the Sabres on October 21st 2000. His 500th came on his second assist of the game on a goal scored by Shanahan at 4:27 of OT giving the Red Wings the victory. The puck has been signed by both Lidstrom and Shanahan on the logo side, with both signatures presenting well. A piece of tape has also been applied listing its historic particulars, while a hologram from Hockeytown has been affixed along the side.
The InGlasCo puck itself just exhibits light-use, with a chip along the backside edge. The tape that’s been applied with particulars states in full, “Detroit – Buffalo October 21-2000 Detroit [sic] 5th goal scored – 14 Shanahan assist – 5 Lidstrom 15 Verbeek 4:27 OT”.
