Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Perhaps the most anticipated player in NHL history, Sidney Crosby didn’t disappoint, breaking the 100-point barrier in his first season which included a point in his very first NHL game on October 5th 2005 against the Devils. This lot contains fourteen tickets from that very first game, including four PSA graded examples along with 20 programs from the event. All full $20.00 tickets, three have been encapsulated Mint 9, while the fourth is a perfect Gem Mint 10, with all four tickets connecting seats. The remaining 10 tickets are also full $20.00 examples, with each ticket just showing some toning to the white areas.
The programs feature Martin Brodeur on the cover, and the majority remain in high grade with just handling wear along with the odd corner ding or surface mark. We should also note that a pair of the PSA holders (including the Gem Mint 10 example) have a few small surface scratches present. Crosby registered his first NHL assist on a 3rd period goal by Mark Recchi in a 5-1 losing effort.
