The captain’s C is sewn on the left breast of Wade Redden’s 2003-04 Ottawa Senators game-worn third jersey, which has the “Roger” patch in memory of the late Roger Neilson as well as a 9-inch-long team repair on the lower front band. Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson missed five games that season and Redden wore this gamer with a C sewn on by hand at some point while he was out of the lineup. MeiGray LOA that accompanies this game-worn jersey states that it is from the Senators’ second season set of their third jerseys. Size 58 flag tag sits in the back of the neck and the MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2003-2004 Season patch sewn inside the rear tail has a registry number that corresponds to the one on the LOA.
In addition to the awesome sewing fix on the front band, more game wear shows in black marks on the white band above it, marks on the “6” sewn on the back in white and red double twill, board burns on the right rear tail at the hip, and a few boards burns and black marks on the sleeves. Redden had a career-high 17 goals including 12 on the power play that season, along with 26 assists for 43 points in 81 games.
