Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Part of Chicago’s deadly one-two combo along with Hull, Stan Mikita logged his entire career with the Black Hawks, spending 21 seasons in The Windy City. This stick was used by Mikita in the mid-to-late-1960s. A Northland Pro model, “Mikita” is stamped on the upper shaft along with handwritten “21”. Featuring the original tape on the blade and well-worn handle, the stick also retains its striping stickers on the lower shaft. Moderate use is exhibited, with wear to the blade along with a few marks on the lower shaft.
Along with the aforementioned markings, the stick also has a handwritten notation of “21 Dec 1965” on the underside of the shaft near the top. A second notation in pen appears to possibly be a name, but it is illegible.
