This large collection of signed hockey books totaling 22 includes a number of desirable titles and signatures, from some of the greatest stars of the game. Highlights include “The Days Canada Stood Still”, featuring the Summit Series and signed by 9 Team Canada members, “The Game” signed by Ken Dryden (no dust jacket), “Lions in Winter” signed by Maurice Richard, “Shooting for Glory” signed by Paul Henderson, and “Jean Beliveau – My Life in Hockey” signed by Beliveau. There are also books signed by Tretiak (2), Sittler, Parent, McDonald, Bucyk, Harris, Salming and Guy Lafleur. An additional 6 books have been signed by their authors, including 3 by Brian McFarlane.
The breakdown for each offered signed book is as follows. 1) The Hockey I Love, signed by Tretiak in ballpoint. 2) Tretiak – The Legend, signed by Tretiak in ballpoint with “Good Luck”. 3) Jean Beliveau – My Life in Hockey, signed in black ink. 4) Shooting for Glory, signed by Paul Henderson with “Good Luck Matthew”. 5) Lions in Winter, signed by Maurice Richard along with the author, with a dedication from the author. 6) The Game, signed by Dryden in black ink, with a personalization and “Merry Christmas”. 7) Red Kelly, signed by Kelly in marker along with a personalization. 8) Robinson for the Defence, signed by Robinson in black ink with a greeting. 9) Clancy, signed by author Brian McFarlane with personalization. 10) Fire-Wagon Hockey, signed by Andy O’Brien the author with a personalization. 11) Calling the Shots, signed on the dust jacket cover by referee Bruce Hood in ink. 12) The Leafs, signed by author McFarlane in ink. 13) Peter Puck’s Greatest Moments in Hockey, signed by McFarlane in pencil. 14) Borje Salming, signed by Salming in marker along with the date. 15) Sittler, signed by Sittler with a long personalization. 16) Beyond the Uke Line, signed by Johnny Bucyk in ink along with a personalization. 17) Lanny, signed by McDonald in marker along with a dedication. 18) The Glory Years, signed by Billy Harris in marker with a dedication. 19) Bernie Bernie Bernie, signed by Parent in marker. 20) Overtime, signed by Lafleur along with a dedication. 21) The Days Canada Stood Still, signed by 9 members of Team Canada including Mikita, Gilbert, Glennie, Awrey, Park, Lapointe and the Mahovlich brothers. All books remain in pleasing condition and retain their dust jackets, with regular handling wear which includes the odd crease and edge tear present. The Parent book exhibits heavier wear, with creases and tears to the dust jacket, along with a slight bend to the spine.
