Perhaps the greatest player to ever wear the sacred CH over his chest, Maurice Richard was the first non-politician in Quebec’s history to have a state-sponsored funeral. This lot features an interesting gathering of Richard material numbering over 35 items, including a Jarry Automobiles contract signed by Richard along with his business card, two birthday cards send by, and signed by Frank Selke, a portrait photo, a Beliveau/Richard/Howe/Hull signed piece, 1943-44 Jarry automobile photo souvenir, a 1963-64 Mtl Forum season ticket order form, a 1955-57 Dixon pencil, a crest worn by Richard in some oldtimers capacity, a copy of Sport magazine from 1949 with a cover image of Richard and more.
Also included is a 2nd generation copy of the 1949 NHL All-Stars photo, 5 paperbacks featuring Richard including a copy of “L’epopee des Canadiens” with the covers laminated, an 8” x 12” signed photo of Richard amid his large bronze statue, a pair of programs for the event celebrating the Richard mini-series in 1999 and a signed picture puck. All of the offered items remain in beautiful condition, with just expected handling wear for the documents, with a pair of the paperbacks showing moderate wear including creasing.
