Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
An intriguing dealer lot here, with a 1965-66 Coca-Cola card set placed neatly in its original album, (featuring an autographed Henri Richard example), combining with a card set put out by Dad’s Cookies in ’70-71 for an real decent start. A 1953-54 Parkies album is rather rough, with scotch tape covering the trimmed Terry Sawchuk card that’s in the “My Favourite” spot on the interior. Various stamp albums from the ‘70s include some stamps pasted in them, with a hard cover Esso Power Player album and one of two NHL Action/Loblaw’s albums (three-quarters complete) the best. Two Eddie Sargent albums picturing Paul Henderson on the cover have a couple to a few stamps per team glued in place. Small square and somewhat scarce cards sponsored by Coca-Cola in ’77-78 total 30 (complete set) and come with their album, however the Bobby Orr card looks to be a copy/reprint. Some stars will be able to be pulled from over 100 Toronto Sun pictures from ’71-72, with an “action players” album also present. Other goodies include a nifty ’61-62 York Peanut Butter lid with three albeit damaged “yellow back” octagonal cards still beneath the cardboard liner and a stack of what we’ll call “fantasy” Bee Hive photos, with a hobbyist producing Bee Hive-like photos and affixing them to cream-colored backings. Some “loose” pictures are also present, with over five dozen dandy images altogether. A vending box of ’89-90 O-Pee-Chee cards, a near set of ’73-74 OPC WHA posters with however tape damage on the reverse, several Panini and OPC stickers albums, a few Post sets of large cards available through mail-in promotions in the ‘90s and several uncut sheets, the latter mostly in admittedly low grade are among the remainder. We do however spot two 66-card uncut sheet sections of ’76-77 cards which are close to be crease-free. All sorts of possibilities here!
