Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Yet another tragic hockey figure, Steve Chiasson sadly perished in an automobile accident in 1999 after playing in a dozen NHL seasons shared amongst Detroit, Calgary, Hartford and Carolina. This Red Wings jersey was worn by Chiasson in 1989-90. Eastside tagging remains in collar, with an embroidered CCM patch on the back bottom hem. Accented with tackle twill numbers and letters and a gorgeous and classic winged-wheel team crest, the garment also has the back name affixed directly onto the sweater. The intact fight strap also shows evidence of heavy washing. Chiasson has added a nice signature to the back number, and it presents extremely well.
Game-wear includes a number of dark marks and board burns on and around the elbow areas of both sleeves, along with two small holes and a 2” V-shaped tear on the front right bottom.
