Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A first round draft pick by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft, Shawn Burr would play in parts of 16 NHL seasons including 11 with Detroit. This Red Wings jersey was worn by Burr in 1992-93. Eastside with size tagging remains affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM patches on the back bottom hem. Styled with tackle twill numbers and letters, the jersey features an attractive and classic winged wheel team crest with the back name letters placed directly onto the sweater. The Stanley Cup centennial patch sits over the right breast, while the team stamp has been placed on the inside hem.
Game-wear on the garment includes dark marks on the lower front along with a large stick mark, as well as board burns on both sleeves. We should also note that the original team store price tag remains attached to the collar. Burr managed 2 goals and an assist in 7 playoffs games for Detroit in 1992-93.
