Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

One of the most underrated modern players, Ray Whitney was able to stay consistent throughout his 20-plus year career finishing with over 1000 points. This Red Wings jersey was worn by Whitney in the 2004 playoffs, in his only season in Detroit. Size tagging appears in the collar, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with attractive tackle twill numbers and letters, the back name has been sewn directly onto the jersey. The team stamp resides on the inside hem, denoting the garment as a “Playoff Set” example. Good game-use is visible, with marks present on the front and sleeves, along with 6 team repairs including 4 on the left sleeve and a pair on the right.
We should also note that an inventory number has been heat-pressed onto the back of the team crest on the interior. Whitney played in 12 playoff games in 2003-04, where he managed 4 points including notching a goal.
