Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A college hockey player originally with UND, Greg Johnson spent 4 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings in the early-1990s, before moving on to Pittsburgh, Nashville and Chicago. This Red Wings jersey was worn by Johnson in 1994-95, his second season with the club. CCM, size and Eastside tagging remains affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM patches on the back bottom hem. Styled with tackle twill numbers and letters, the jersey features an attractive and classic winged wheel team crest with the back name letters placed directly onto the sweater. The team stamp sits on the inside hem, and the Detroit team store price tag is still attached to the collar.
Game-wear includes a number of large and prominent dark stick marks on the lower front, sleeves and back, with board burns on both sleeves. There is also some loose threading on the right shoulder near the numbers.
