Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Fabulous 10-karat gold ring featuring 30 real diamonds was produced circa 2000 at the request of the family of the late Maurice Richard when he had passed away. Commemorating his 1957 Stanley Cup championship with the Canadiens, this ring and others were ordered by the Richard family to represent the Stanley Cup rings the Rocket did not receive during his illustrious career. The size 9 ring weighs approximately 23 grams. There are 22 diamonds surrounding a raised gold Stanley Cup on the tableau, and four each on the left and right bezels, with “Montreal” and “Canadiens” spelled out on the top and bottom bezels. The shanks display “Richard”, his No. 9, the CH logo and Stanley Cup Champions 1956-57. Proud wear shows in scratches and scuffs, particularly on the back of the band. Comes with an LOA from the Richard family.
“Richard” and his illustrious No. “9” are displayed with an enameled CH crest on the left shank. The right shank displays “Coupe Stanley Cup” in raised gold with “1956-57” stamped on a banner above an image of the old Montreal Forum in raised gold. The ring’s gold has been tested to 10 karats.
