Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins game-used Reebok stick is from his sensational 2009-10 season. This Reebok Sickick II Technology composite gamer was obtained directly from Sid the Kid, who used it in the Pens’ 2-0 loss to New Jersey at the Prudential Center on December 30, 2009. Less than two months later Crosby scored the golden goal that gave Canada an Olympic gold medal in Vancouver. “87” is handwritten in marker on the front of Sid’s white tape job on the knob. His black tape job remains on the blade and a Frameworth hologram is affixed low on the shaft. A sticker low on the back of the shaft indicates the date and result of the game. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
Crosby won the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2009-10. He also shared the Maurice Richard Trophy when he scored a career-high 51 goals to tie for the league lead with Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos.
