In this neat Russian lot we have Sergei Petrenko’s worn 1998 Russian National Team jersey, along with a Russian practice jersey that’s been signed by the 2008 World Champion Russians. The 1998 World Championships tournament was held in Basel, Switzerland, from May 1st to 17th, 1998. This home white Nike jersey has sewn-on number "24" on both sleeves and back, "Petrenko" nameplate, IIHF 90th anniversary patch on left chest and "Warsteiner" patches on both shoulders. The Nike emblems are embroidered over the right chest and centered above the nameplate on the back. The uniform has a Nike size 56 tag in the collar and a Nike barcode on the inside hem. The shirt exhibits good game wear including an unrepaired cut on the right sleeve and a number of good slashes on the lower front area. The 2008 Russian team-signed jersey is a practice model in solid yellow, and according to our consignor, it was offered to him by National Team trainer Slaya Bykov. With tagging in collar along with heat-pressed size tagging, the Nike jersey features a sewn-on Russian team crest with a “Respect” back patch. 22 have signed across the front around the team crest in black marker, with the signatures displaying beautifully.
