Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A Moscow Red Army regular throughout the 1980’s, Andrei Khomutov represented the Soviet Union a number of times, winning 9 gold medals split between the World Championships and Olympics. These two Soviet National Team jerseys were worn by Khomutov in the late-1980s. Void of tagging, both jerseys feature affixed Russian Sports Federation patches over the breasts, with all other identifiers sublimated, including the CCCP team crest. Both jerseys show nice use, with the solid white example exhibiting large stick marks on the lower front and sleeves, along with a few small spots of red paint transfer. These were the exact type of jerseys worn by the National team in the late-1980s in tournaments such as the Izvestia Cup.
