Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Czech superstar Ivan Hlinka spent two seasons in Switzerland towards the end of his career. Hlinka faired well in the Alps, scoring almost a goal a game during his time there. This white mesh uniform, worn by Ivan circa 1983 to 1985 while with EVZ Zug of the Swiss Elite league, is tagged in the collar by Le Coq Sportif in size "L" and is originally from his personal collection. The felt crest at the chest is joined by arm numbers in identical material on the sleeves and a large stylistic number 14 on the back. The Basler sponsor patch is on the tail and the shirt shows obvious game wear with a number of board burns / stick marks on the sleeves. Hlinka was inducted in the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002.
