Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Coming off one of their best seasons in franchise history, the 1941-42 Toronto Maple Leafs would finish with a record of 27-18-3, and then go on to defeat the Detroit Red Wings for their 3rd Stanley Cup in franchise history. This mini-stick has been signed by that very team. At 16”, the one-piece stick features 21 pencil signatures scripted entirely on one side, with maker “Love & Bennett” stamped in silver foil on the other. Bold and dark, highlights include deceased Hall of Famers Gord Drillon, Syl Apps, Sweeney Schriner, Turk Broda and coach Hap Day. We should note that Day has signed twice. Remaining in excellent condition, there is a centralized hole present from a former mounting. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
Others who have signed this vintage stick include Taylor, Carr, Langelle, Goldup, Davidson, McCreedy, McDonald, Metz, Goldham, Kampman, Stanowski, Dickens, Hamilton and Gaye Stewart.
